Yellowstone Hiking Guides safely leads hiking groups into the Lamar Valley on a wildlife viewing day hike tour.

Our guides are experts and fun is a top priority. Regularly, we spot wolves, bears, and other rare wildlife from the trail in the backcountry of Yellowstone.

Our tours are off the beaten path, traveling on bison trails for the majority of the hike. Most tour providers in Yellowstone spend the majority of the day on the road, or very close to the road. Our guides take you into the backcountry for unique views of the Lamar Valley that you cannot see from the roadway.

Frequently, our guests tell us that they could not do this hike on their own. We also hear feedback stating this is the best part of our guest's vacation to Yellowstone.

What a wonderful time was had by all this morning. Our guide, Emily Jo, was fabulous. She shared her vast knowledge of animals and plants of Yellowstone in an interesting and entertaining way. We saw bison, pronghorn antelope, bear, red winged black bird, Sandhill Crain and cute ground squirrels. We highly recommend this tour!

Mark, our guide, arrived 30 minutes late. When Mark arrived, he gave an excellent safety briefing and ensured we knew what to expect. Everything advertised was available, and the lunch was delicious. Mark was knowledgeable and patient, and kind. The scenery was breathtaking, and the trail was very nice, but unfortunately, we didn’t see any bears, bighorn sheep, or wolves. We did see Bison relatively close and Pronghorn sheep at a distance. Although this hike was enjoyable, it was not worth the $364 for my wife and me.

Jake was amazing! Very knowledgeable about area and how the migration of bison flowed. He was the best part of the tour! We had mixed feelings about this tour. While animal sightings are not garaunteed we only saw Bison (which are Everywhere) and longhorns. the trails are hikeable without a guide (even for non experienced). Food provided wasn’t great (simple Turkey sandwich and soggy cheese, chips, apple, kind bar).
