Lamar Valley Safari Hiking Tour with Lunch

Overview
Yellowstone Hiking Guides safely leads hiking groups into the Lamar Valley on a wildlife viewing day hike tour.

Our guides are experts and fun is a top priority. Regularly, we spot wolves, bears, and other rare wildlife from the trail in the backcountry of Yellowstone.

Our tours are off the beaten path, traveling on bison trails for the majority of the hike. Most tour providers in Yellowstone spend the majority of the day on the road, or very close to the road. Our guides take you into the backcountry for unique views of the Lamar Valley that you cannot see from the roadway.

Frequently, our guests tell us that they could not do this hike on their own. We also hear feedback stating this is the best part of our guest's vacation to Yellowstone.

Perfect hike! Josh was very friendly and knowledgeable. We saw buffalo, coyote, pronghorn, and giant Mormon crickets, which have a very interesting backstory. Josh had prewalked the route and found moose, elk, and buffalo skulls to show us along the way. He reminds me of a young Steve Irwin. He packed snacks and sandwiches for us that were better than I could make and he had plenty of water for all. It's about an 8 mile hike, a few steep spots, but mostly flat. My husband and I are in our late fifties and not terribly athletic, but we did fine. I highly recommend this tour and especially Josh!!

Excellent hike with Karlie with a "K" Karlie made sure that everyone didn't over do themselves, plenty of breaks and hydration. The scenery was spectacular, and we saw plenty of Bison. Karlie was very informative about the Bisons and other animals we came across. We enjoyed the excursion and Karlie so much, we booked the Yellowstone South Rim of the Grand Canyon also.

The Guide (Joshua) was very knowledgeable of Yellowstone and super accommodating to everyone on the hike. He pointed out indigenous plants/trees and showcased various animal artifacts found in the park. Loved seeing the animals from a safe distance. Would recommend to anyone new to the park who enjoys a leisurely 6 mile hike.
