We did see a lot of manatees.. but we only went through canals and not out into the water like another boat tour we went on. I guess we weren’t expecting just going in shallow canals in peoples “back yards”. Captain Storm was our tour guide. There wasn’t a lot of education in my opinion, or even talking for that matter. He said in the beginning about how much talking he would do so don’t ask a lot of questions, that wasn’t true. We learned more at the aquarium the other day from reading about manatees. We had Captain Storm who mentioned a tip at the beginning of the tour as it was also posted on the boat that you should tip. At the end, he stopped the boat and mentioned it again right before we pulled into the dock telling US how much we should give HIM. We didn't have cash and thought it was inappropriate that he had mentioned it twice and it felt forced and made us uncomfortable. He docked us and got off the boat and stood there as we all got off hovering over everyone and as we walked away he called us out about not tipping and when my boyfriend told him we didn’t have cash he told him he could go online and use the card we originally used and tip him $20. My boyfriend just brushed it off saying okay and walked away as he was upset that this man called him out for it in front of everyone like we didn’t just pay $135 for a mediocre boat trip that we are apparently 100% EXPECTED to tip for.. We get in our car and I look to see my card charged an extra $20 just a few minutes prior to looking at my phone. My boyfriend calls Barry, the owner, about them charging my card without PERMISSION. Barry said Captain Storm does work for minimum wage which we do understand as my boyfriend is a waiter who makes $4.15/hr and lives off his tips but never would my boyfriend pressure or force customers to tip and if he did it wouldn’t be tolerated. As we also do understand how important tipping is but it should be on US to take care of that not the captain to just take money off my card. Barry asked what we wanted him to do about his employee making an unauthorized charge of $20 on our card like it was fine or a mystery that it was highly inappropriate. My boyfriend asked for the money back because the man took it without asking? At most places this would never be tolerated, my boyfriend would lose his job if he charged someone’s card a tip without their permission. Barry said he will refund our stolen $20 but it’s just the point of how it all happened and how it was handled. Highly unprofessional and disappointing! I’m sure there’s better tours to spend your money on. Would never recommend or go back.

Over 1000 patrons repeat each year on our precious Nature Tour. Big misunderstanding on your tour. Grandmother said it was ok to add the $20 onto to credit card. There was no stealing! However, there was probably a personality conflict between you and the captain. I apologized many times to your boyfriend for the misunderstanding. We are sorry things did not work for you.

Good Captain...good boat...good time. Easy online booking. Very laid back. Easy on & off and plenty of parking close by.
