Avoid the crowds of the other "cattle boats" in Kona, and enjoy a small-group manta ray snorkeling experience with a maximum of 12 passengers.

This tour departs from Keahou Harbor in South Kona and enjoys a short 5-minute boat ride to our snorkeling site, Manta Village.

Your Captain and snorkel guide will educate you on Kona's famous manta rays and will discuss our safe and humane approach to engaging with the gentle giants.

After entering the water, you'll hold onto our lightboard, with your feet propped up by floatation devices, as the manta rays perform a graceful ballet beneath you. The manta rays filter feed on plankton that naturally gathers at the surface just before sunset, then accumulates underneath our lights. This is an opportunity to enjoy an evening on the water and watch in amazement as the manta rays glide around and dance for you.

We are proud to be a Green Listed company, and we take an environmentally cautious approach to our interactions with the manta rays.

The guides Jason and Brent, I think were their names, were awesome guides! They made sure everyone was comfortable and safe the whole time, gave good instructions before going out and made sure we had a lot of manta ray time. The manta rays were unbelievable! They come extremely close to you. Would highly recommend for older children and adults.

What a unique experience! We signed up for the first slot at sunset so were greeted by dolphins and a beautiful sky on the 5 minute ride to just outside Keauhou Harbor with Captain Jeff and crew Hunter. The trip went like clockwork, they had us in location, light board out, ready in line to get off the boat and hanging on the board in record time maximizing our time out with Manta's. All the time out there, Hunter would explain what we were seeing and why. This was our 2nd tour with Hawaii Oceanic, we had also done their whale watching tour the day before. Best decision we made was putting our vacation experience in their hands. For those that get a little sea sick, use a behind the ear patch and recommend the first tour so its a bit light out as you go in the water.

Super cool experience, definitely loved that it was a smaller group and not a massive bus full of people. Super quick ride out of the harbor to the spot. Guides where super knowledgeable and really cared about what they do.
