Bucket list, check. A must-do when visiting Anchorage and Talkeetna. Staff is amazing, and the dogs are a sight-to-see. Watch out for the team’s stink-eye—go hard or go home! Puppies will melt you. Gamble is the man. Such a honor to be lead by this legend. Good luck on the race next month. Will follow and cheer from the East coast.

The staff were very friendly and informative. On the day we went, it was -28°F. My wife and I were not prepared for that temperature, but they let is borrow warm gear to ensure we would be comfortable and have a positive experience. They even took our photos for us so we could focus on the experience (and keep our fingers warm). Mushing the sled dogs was an exhilarating experience and the highlight of my trip to Alaska. Touring the kennel was also a great experience and it was a pleasure to meet all the friendly dogs from 6 week old puppies to the retired 11 year old dogs. Learning how the kennel operates and more about the Iditarod was a bonus. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

This is the Best way to experience the Alaskan wilderness!! Dallas Seaver’s AK sled dog tours is filled with professional and personable dog handlers and mushers. Gabby and Holly assisted with training on how to mush the dogs as well as provided answers to all questions about the dogs, the sport, the history of the area and the kennel. The dogs are amazing and you can truly appreciate their excitement as they take you through very picturesque trails. Gamble was my sled’s lead dog. He is a golden harness winner and has been part of three or the five championship teams to win the Iditarod with Dallas. There is plenty of opportunities to take pictures and interact with the dogs. While I was there I got to also enjoy playing with the puppies and even seeing recently born pups. The AK dog sled tour personnel are all polite, kind, and work to make the experience a safe and enriching one. On the trail, I was guided and encouraged by the staff. The dogs are the real treat and watching them enjoying themselves as your pulled through a scenic winter wonderland is definitely a bucket memory I am thankful to have captured.
