When looking for information on this company, Google: newyorktourshuttle.com I found their name confusing with the other New York City-named tours. (Example NYC Hop on Hop Off Bus/Tours, etc.)
We took the 9 hour tour Main Attractions Tour. We opted to pay the extra $20./each for the open-top sprinter van (retractable, if needed), which was worth the extra cost: our group only had 9 participants, the weather cooperated on the day of our trip & the open air van allowed you to really enjoy all the enormity of the skyscrapers and 360⁰ views, and during the stops, we could leave our belongings in the van, secure. The van is in very good condition, clean, smooth ride, with David, our tour guide, on a mike so you could hear clearly. David was a wonderful tour guide; he clearly has a passion for New York City; his narration throughout was not only educational, but his stories, and historical anecdotes were interesting, and entertaining. At Paesano’s, we chose to eat outside on the terrace; the weather was great and we enjoyed the fair that was going on that day. It’s all Italian, but my husband (who doesn’t eat Italian), chose the chicken Caesar salad and was able to enjoy an entrée that wasn’t all that spicy. The tour followed the itinerary, except that we didn’t stop at Grand Central Station, Federal Hall, Trinity Church, or the Ticker Tape Parade Route (disappointing). Our tour started at St. Patrick’s Cathedral; time was given to go inside. The stops we made were: The Empire State Building (with time enough to go to the top), lunch in Little Italy, ferry to the Statue of Liberty (no waiting in line to go into the pedestal), and the 911 Memorial Pools; with all stops allowing enough time to enjoy. I would highly recommend this tour. By the end of the day, we felt that we had seen and learned about many, many iconic structures and neighborhoods in an enjoyable way. The driver was great; it enabled my husband to enjoy the city, too, without the stress of driving in Manhattan.
