New York City Greenwich Village 3 Hour Private Walking Tour

Огляд
Bob Dylan. Andy Warhol. Edgar Allen Poe. The list of legendary residents of New York City’s Greenwich Village goes on, and we’ll be exploring their legacies and the surprising fringe history of this vibrant neighborhood.

You’ll start your walking tour in Washington Square, famed for its iconic Memorial Arch and less known for its early Native American village and later designation as “Little Africa”.

As our tour sets off into the neighborhood, your guide will explain the cultural significance of Greenwich Village as a place where art and counterculture flourished. You’ll hear stories of street buskers, painters, and writers, both famous and obscure.

You’ll also see firsthand the neighborhood’s transformation following years of gentrification and its struggle to preserve its history in the face of an expanding university.

We’ll end at one of the neighborhood’s most significant landmarks, the Stonewall Inn, where you’ll learn about the riots that fueled the fight for LGBTQ rights.

We took a tour in the West Village Area, we a lot of fun and learned a lot about the area! We learned about the history of Washington Square Park and the surrounding area. We saw historic buildings and landmarks, and got a lot of great food and drink recommendations. The guide was very knowledgeable about anything we asked and it was super interesting.

Jessie was such an awesome tour guide. We had a blast doing a west village walking tour with 3 awesome bars. We had Happy Hour special drinks in each place and got a full history of each of the bars we visited and learned about very interesting key spots along the way. Jessie was great. She was super informative and really just fun to learn from. I definitely recommend taking one of her tours for your group as well!

Jessie was a fabulous tour guide and she was quite knowledgeable. I learned a lot about Greenwhich Village, even though I though I knew the area so well before. I highly recommend this tour and Jessie as a tour guide.
