Your New York City walking tour will wrap up at this historic landmark, known for the 1959 riots that helped promote the fight for LGBTQ rights. Your tour guide will lead you through the events leading up to the riots and the impact they had on the gay liberation movement. Following the tour, we’ll encourage you to stop in for a drink and support their case as a safe place for the LGBTQ community!

I am very pleased that I decided to join some friends for a private We Venture tour of the West Village. While I have lived either in or near Manhattan for close to 40 years, I learned quite a bit more about the rich history of this area of NYC. I saw some previously familiar streets and sites with new eyes, and other notable landmarks were brough to my attention for the first time. Our guide, Jessie, was exceptionally knowledgeable and delivered a fun and thoroughly engaging tour. We learned about the evolution of the area and its history of activism, with stories and details that went beyond the typical sightseeing tour or standard guidebook. I also appreciate that We Venture supports local businesses by providing the opportunity during the tour to experience local establishments. Out of the different choices presented, we chose to visit a top-rated craft cocktail bar, as our tour time happened to sync up nicely with happy hour. Whether you're a first-time visitor to NYC or a seasoned local looking to discover new facets of your city, I would highly recommend a We Venture tour.
