This 3-hour walking tour brings the history of three Brooklyn neighborhoods to life through the animated narration of a local guide. Walking up and down inclines, examining the structure of brownstones, seeing the country's first vest pocket park, and viewing storefronts that reflect the multiethnic fabric of the Cobble Hill, Brooklyn Heights and Carroll Garden areas was a first introduction to Brooklyn for my friend and I. We visited many locally owned small food businessed, met their proprietors and ate delectable samples along the way. Although the pizza from the coal fired furnace was astounding, there was much more than Italian represented!. Croissants from a James Beard 2018 award winning bakery, a woman owned cookie shop, delectable bagel and lox from a "culturally Jewish" deli, Syrian pita and Arabic nutshop from the mideast, concluding with a sitdown sampling of delectable chocolates provided us a true taste of the area.
Our tour guide, Mickey, was very engaging, and solicitous.
