This trip runs on Eastern Time.
You will get an amazing 3 mile tour just outside Chattanooga, Tennessee at Nickajack Lake and will learn about gray bats, osprey, cliff swallows, blue heron, and other wildlife. Your guide will discuss how they are all interconnected, what is being done to protect these wild animals, and what impact you can do to help the incredible endangered gray bat. We throw in a little history of the Tennessee River and how it became what it looks like today. With a grand finale of watching 100,00 gray bats leave the cave at sunset.

What a fun night! Kayaking as the sun was setting was such a cool experience...even better when the batts came flying out from the cave...and seeing an osprey hunt for fish in the lake below it..."icing on the cake"!

I was a little worried about this trip because I'm not someone who exercises, but our guide, Zach, assured me he would tow me if necessary. Also, no one in my family had ever been kayaking. Despite that my 13 year old son was at the front of the pack the entire time and my 10 year old daughter loved being in the two person kayak with Zach. We all had a great time and I didn't even need Zach to tow me because we went at a slow pace, stopped several times to hear about the area, and it was on flat water. We cannot wait to try another trip!!

Thoroughly enjoyed this relaxing kayak tour. The instructor was polite and knowledgeable. He made it fun and it was amazing seeing the bats fly from the cave!
