We had already done 2 days of scuba diving and seen lots of great underwater life - dolphins, turtles, eels, an octopus. The kids (12 and 16) were on the fence about adding the night manta snorkel trip - what could top what we had already seen? But so many locals we know had recommended it that we decided we should trust them. SO glad we did. The mantas - Amanda and Janna - were huge and kept looping up to run right under our noses, over and and over again. We had to lean away so that we didn't touch them as they slid by under us. It was spectacular. Guides Grace and Emily gave us terrific information about them while we watched, and kept everyone comfortable and tuned in to how to understand their behavior. Captain Nick was welcoming and gave clear directions at each stage. Big plus: Sea Quest is harbored immediately around the corner from the site, so a very short 5 minute boat ride, rather than coming all the way up from Kona by boat - which would have been a bit cold! If you're on the fence: do it!
