Had such a great time King Salmon fishing with Captain Mike in June, we had the opportunity in September to do it again 'Just for the Halibut'. As the summer salmon run was just about over and the fall run was just beginning, we asked Captain Mike if we could focus on halibut and if time allowed try for the early silver salmon run. Captain Mike isn't afraid to 'burn' fuel. He took us to one of his 'honey holes' about an hour south of Ketchikan where he felt the incoming tides would bring in the feeder fish followed by the halibut. He was spot on! We caught a veritable smorgasbord of cod, and rockfish followed a short time later by the halibut. The picture speaks for itself. Did I mention that Captain Mike isn't afraid to 'burn' fuel. After our limit of halibut, he then motored us about 30 minutes north of Ketchikan to the salmon grounds, where we had a ball catching King Shakers, watching whale pods 'bubble feeding', topped off by an eagle dive bombing for rockfish. From start to finish, Captain Mike provides excellent equipment, an excellent boat, and outstanding service for a most enjoyable experience! Can't wait to do it again next year!

Fantastic fishing in beautiful Ketchikan. The boat and captain were top notch as was the gear! Not only did we catch lots of fish we saw whales, sea lions and wonderful scenery. Highly recommend this outfit!

Know that I am a fisherman. Mike and his operation are the best! He works hard to put you on the fish and will help you land them. Fishing is not always "catching", we did! You charter his boat in full, 1 to 4 anglers for 4, 6 or 8 hours. 8 hour trip can be for Salmon and Halibut. Four of us, two not really fisherman, did well. 21 salmon with 3 released as undersized and 4 others that came off. Mike can help arrange processing, freezing and packaging your catch for an additional fee. I picked my catch on the way to the airport and checked as baggage. Can ship FedEx overnight also. My take home was 15 lbs of Silver salmon and the satisfaction of a real Alaskan fishing experience. I will fish this operation again.
