This was our favorite thing we did on our 2 week vacation in Alaska! William was an excellent guide, really knowledgable and friendly. He shared stories with us from his time in Alaska. His boat is brand new and pristine, he prides himself on keeping his boat clean. There is seating for 5 inside the cabin of the boat, suitable for all ages. On our way to our fishing spot, William spotted Orca whales and pulled over so he could give us the best views of the gorgeous animals. We got great pictures! We arrived at our beautiful fishing location, William bated our lines and taught us what to do (it was simple enough). He picked a great spot because we started catching fish quickly. William took care of unhooking the fish and storing them in the ice box. You don't have to get your hands dirty with bating fish and unhooking the catches if you don't want to, but are certainly welcome to. I forgot my sunglasses and William let me borrow his! Very helpful and genuinely wanted to make this a great experience (it was!!). I'd recommend bringing a hat, sunglasses, a drink and a snack, your camera, sunblock. You can leave your camera or any food in the cabin so it doesn't get wet. We caught several Halibut, Pacific Cod, a Red Snapper, and a couple small sharks (which we threw back). It was a great success!! I'd highly recommend this fishing trip! On our way back to Ketchikan, we saw a humpback whale!

The wife and I went fishing with William on June 1st 2014 and had an awesome time. There were 4 of us on the boat and was just right. William met us at the dock early and we were off to some of his hot spots. Even though the weather was a blue bird day with the wrong wind he put us on the fish. We all caught a nice halibut ranging from 17lbs to 69 lbs. as well as some good sized rock and cod fish. William made this possible by teaching the proper technique as well as picking the right spot. He even had to run the motor to hold us on one spot because the wind kept moving the anchor. This is were I caught the 69 lb. halibut and my wife caught her 17 lb. one. He went above and beyond to make sure the trip was awesome. Needless to say got plenty of fillets in freezer now. I would and will recommend William and thealaskacatch.com to all I know.

It was one of the best things we have done in Alaska. Very experienced fisherman. My husband and I caught way more than we expected. How surprise I was when I normally never have even one fish on the hook and I was the first one to catch fish in Alaska. Now just waiting for our fish to arrive. :) Thanks and we will be back shortly :)
