Escape from the crowded tourist areas for a private, 90-minute, 1-on-1 surf lesson near Lahaina, Maui. Choose from an early-, mid-, or late-morning time frame. This surf session will focus on water safety, proper surf technique, surfing style, and etiquette. The experienced, professional instructor guarantees students will stand up, catch a wave, and leave the beach as a certified surfer. All lessons are private so they will never combine guests from separate parties. All the necessary equipment — rash guard, state-of-the-art soft-top board, and reef shoes — included.

I had the best experience with Rivers to the Sea. I’m 53 and have never surfed but my instructor Justin helped me not only stand on the board but actually ride the waves. He would watch me carefully each ride and, when I got back to him, he’d give me specific tips to try for the next ride. He was a truly great teacher and I had an experience of a lifetime!

These guys were absolutely excellent. We had a private lesson with Kody for our 2 girls (ages 12 and 15) and a private lesson with Eric for our son (age 8). Kody and Eric were absolutely excellent. They were friendly and supportive and encouraged our kids. All 3 loved it. My son kept begging to have another lesson but the schedule was booked. If we ever come back to Maui, I would book these guys right after I booked our airfare and our hotels!
