The Hāna Highway is a 64.4-mile long stretch of spectacular views of rainforest, waterfalls, beaches and coastline. On the east after Kalepa Bridge, the highway continues to Kīpahulu on the Piilani Highway. Although Hāna is only about 52 miles from Kahului, it takes about 2.5 hours to drive when no stops are made as the highway is very winding and narrow and passes over 59 bridges, 46 of which are only one lane wide. There are approximately 620 curves along Route 360 from just east of Kahului to Hāna, virtually all of it through lush, tropical rainforest. Many of the concrete and steel bridges date back to 1910 and all but one are still in use. This full-day trip to the Hana coast has the best scenic drive along the shorelines of Maui.

Hana Highway -

Ho'okipa Beach

Half Way to Hana Snack;

Excellent day in Maui, our guide Greg insured that we had a comfortable but exciting day taking The Road Less Traveled to see and explore the sights that few tourists find on their own. 100 worth it

Glen was our guide and he was super knowledgeable. It was raining so I think we may have missed some stops but that couldn't be helped. The scenery was beautiful and seeing the giant turtles at the beach was a once in the lifetime experience. I'm so glad I did not drive the road myself- those hairpin turns were a bit much after awhile. It's definitely a must do if it's the first time to Maui.

Don't be mistaken. This is not an out and back from Kahului to Hana. This is a circle tour around East Maui. Our guide, Alex, and trainee, Glen, were both great: friendly, entertaining and informative. Full breakfast was included - at a golf course. Not mentioned in tour description. We stopped at many scenic vistas, beaches and points of interest. The tour was great and lasted about 10.5 hours.
