Minimum age is 10 years. Riders 10 to 15 years must have a parent present to both sign a waiver and accompany them on the tour
Riders 16 to 17 years must have a parent present to sign a waiver but are allowed to ride without parent accompaniment
Minimum weight is 40 lbs (18kg) and maximum weight is 250 lbs (113 kg)
While this tour is not physically demanding, you must have a decent level of fitness and be able to climb stairs without assistance to participate

John and his partner were waiting for us with a video (which is mandatory) explaining things about the Segway. After introductions and a general overview about what we were going to do that day we were equipped with helmets and had our first experience with the Segways. It was our first time on a Segway and John really adressed all possible issues and made us feel very safe. After a short training in the yard we were ready for the tour and started out into SD. During the tour we always felt very safe just following John and he made sure that we were always in range for a traffic light etc. Also, he was very knowledgeable and stopped quite frequently at some points of interest (they vary, depending on your interests). We also had a lot of fun driving the Segways on some big and wide ways and in off-roads. We definitely recommend the experience as a whole, I am sure that all the other Segway tours are just as exceptional.

Chris Riedy was a delight. I'm a 64 yr old senior. After a short video and lesson, off I went with Chris in the lead pointing out the sights. It was a joy. No matter how old you are, put it on your bucket list. Whether you're a local or a visitor to San Diego; it is a guaranteed 90 minutes of fun. You've got to try this.

We booked the tour for our group of 8. Since it was a Holiday and the tour started early at 8AM, we had the empty streets to roam and it worked out better since this was our first time riding the segway. After 30 minutes into the tour, we felt like segway pros. Our tour guide, Johnny handsome, is the best. He made the tour so much more fun and took good care of us. We could see a lot more of the city with the segway since we covered more grounds than walking. If this is your first time to the city, take the tour, see where you like to visit and come back later on on your own. We would definitely do this again with the 3 hours Balboa tour. Worth every pennies. Don't forget to take care of our tour guides and show your appreciation for their services.
