We only saw dolphins. No blue whales. It was enjoyable riding in the boat. I was glad I took Bonine for motion sickness. There were several people who were sick. The dolphins were fun to watch. We got a card for 50% off the next time we go whale watching with them. The crew was friendly.

I took this cruise with my friend, she took the anti nausea pill and it made her so sleepy she missed most of the cruise, so unless you really need - pass on the pill. You'll definitely get to see dolphins and seals, but when it comes to whales it depends on the season so do your research before if it's the right time. We got to see whales from a far and not too close, it also feels like you are in a stakeout to catch the whales as they come out to breath. The woman on the boat tells the crows to pick a side of the boat and that when a whale is spotted the boat will turn. What actually happens is that people run to the side where you see the whale and then the boat turns (useless) and everybody runs to the other side to continue watching it - so why turn the boat ?! Overall it was fun, and I would recommend it.

We had a great time with San Diego Whale Watch! We got to spend time with several pacific grey whales and we saw sea lions and dolphins. The staff was great and really cared about the wildlife and our good time. 2 caveats: 1) Take the seasickness meds! You can bring your own or but on board. I am not generally prone to motion sickness. I've been on dive boats, sightseeing boats and other whale watch boats. I can ride a roller coaster 8x in a row. I needed the Dramamine and was looking for a second dose by the end. Lots of people losing their breakfasts. I only took the Dramamine because I has read such strong warnings in reviews and I feel the need to reiterate them. Seriously take something. 2) Dress warmly. You're exposed to the elements and even though I was wearing shorts on land, on the boat I was thankful for a scarf and gloves. Again, the boat pitching and rolling is intense and caused me the first real motion sickness of my life. Take the meds!
