Leaving this review as a warning. First part of the tour to Golden Gate Bridge was fine, we got seats on top (2 adults and 1 child) ...the rest of the experience was horrible...so that's why I am posting here.
We got off @ Golden Gate Park stop, not inside the park, Fulton St. city bus stop. We asked before tour left how long the pick ups were in between, we were told up to 45 minutes. To double check, we asked driver as we got off, he said it could be 30-45 minutes.
To get back to pick up. we had about 20 minutes to walk in park, feeling pressure to get back in time.
We waited almost 1 hour for your bus.
There were No seats on the upper deck.
Worst Experience unfolded:
The guide on top was talking so loud and playing such loud psychedelic music that we had to cover our ears and it still hurt. Plus his microphone was bad, scratchy sound. I went up two times to tell him, first time he turned down the music, but volume of his voice and speaker scratching was terrible so I went up again.
As the bus went through the Haight, I went back up for a 3rd time and asked him to let us off @ Civic Center, which I saw was a stop on their brochure .The bus didn’t stop at Civic Center and the guide kept talking about inane things, like pot, cannabis, etc.
The yellow wall on the bus blocked any view, no insulation, not good for covid times, or any time. It was so stuffy. No air came from stairs.
The other adult went up to plead with the driver to let us off, he didn’t take any action.
I didn’t know if we could even get to Union Square stop, given what had happened and the 6 & 1/2 yr old child was so distressed...I started banging my foot on bus door.
The driver opened it t on Turk or Ellis; this child saw drug dealing and bad things on the way up to Van Ness where we got a regular city bus to get home.
I usually do not post bad reviews, but I am doing so to alert others to the unprofessional, cruel experience we had to endure, after the Golden Gate Bridge stop, as I wrote at the beginning.
