Great stories about the Sarasota area. Useful tip about how to paddle better. Enjoyed the time standing on a sandbar away from the shore contrasted with the close up experience of the Mangrove “tunnels”.

Steffan was amazing. He got us –– a family of 4 plus 7 other people –– safely underway in our kayaks in the beautiful Sarasota bay. We kayaked safely and smoothly, listening to Steffan, and learned a lot about the history of Sarasota. He knows all the birds and the fish, some by name – the entire ecosystem. The birds seemed to know him too, flying toward him when he pointed them out. We kayaked past the beached boats courtesy of hurricane Milton and hurricane Helene, while cormorants swam around us. Steffan told us the story of John Ringling (the circus guy) and how he developed Sarasota. Steffan is deeply knowledgeable, and we highly recommend him.

Wear water friendly shoes! I made the mistake of wearing sneakers, but that’s my bad lol! This was such a fun highlight of my trip to Sarasota! Our tour guide, Kelly, was friendly, helpful, and patient! He shared interesting information while being quite funny! We didn’t see any manatees or dolphins due to the colder water temps, but the birds were a delight! We had some winged friends swimming and hunting alongside us throughout our tour, making for some fun boat-side entertainment. The mangroves were beautiful and we learned a lot! I highly recommend this tour and will do it again if I’m back in Sarasota!
