We did the cemetery tour with Lisa Marie, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Lisa Marie was very knowledgeable about key sights within the cemetery, Savannah's history, and how the two tied together. She was great at answering all our questions. The cemetery is huge, and two hours is not nearly sufficient to cover it all. But after the tour is done, you are free to roam around as long as you like. The landscape of the cemetery, as well as the graves, tombs, crypts, is all very picturesque so I would definitely suggest bringing a camera. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes, and bring a bottle of water, as you will do a lot of walking.

Our first tour was with Shannon. Our second was with a lovely woman with red hair (I forgot her name). Both were outstanding! They discuss the historical roots of the cemetery and how it is used now. They discuss the meanings of various symbols and historical sculpture and point out the most interesting things in the cemetery, They were both extremely knowledgeable. They both also mentioned some highlights in the cemetery which we could not get to in the 2.5 hour tour (it is advertised as 2 hours, but both of my tours went over by 30 minutes, which is a good thing!) and gave instructions if we wanted to walk the additional distance. I may go on this tour every time I visit Savannah - it is that interesting!!

Shannon was a very knowledgeable guide and a great story teller. A must do when you visit Savannah. Very affordable even went over the two hours allotted for the tour.
