Акуляча клітка для дайвінгу на острові Оаху

Огляд
More than just an adventure, this educational tour takes you into a world that few can ever experience. The open ocean world of sharks!

We take you three miles off shore, where you can observe Galapagos and Sandbar sharks in their natural environment from the safety of a floating cage. No scuba experience is necessary, you enter the cage from above and stay on the surface using a mask and snorkel. Large Poly Glass windows let you peer into the open ocean and watch the sharks as they glide gracefully through the deep blue. To be in the presence of such awe inspiring animals will change the way you see sharks forever.

When we arrived at the location, we thought we were North Shore, turns out the area to check in at is on the other side at Hawai'i shark encounters. There is no booth, its just the guys on the boat that asks for your name and that is it, pretty painless. I would suggest bringing a towel, sunscreen, some water, your own snorkel set (if you have them but they supply some) and if you get sea sick take Dramamine. I don't get sea sick but I took it just in case and I felt fine. The tour guys are nice and they do like to joke around which is cool. The boat ride is about 10-15 minutes and it is bumpy getting out there but the way back is not so much. Now to review the cage experience: The cage has areas of Plexiglas but the rest does not, be-careful not to put your arms or legs out. Sharks get close to the cage which is awesome. However, I do NOT like the fact they can put as much as 6 people at a time in a cage. It makes the cage a lot more bumpy and hard to hold yourself up. I'm a good swimmer and I literally bumped my head, my legs and arms against the cage and yes it did hurt but didn't knock me out. My wife does not know how to swim and she saw some sharks but just couldn't handle how rough the waters were. Plus you're on vacation (holiday) let others enjoy as well. We had one lady that would not move out of my wife's way even though she saw her struggling. It really pissed me off but the boat guys did nothing about it ( I do not think they knew). On our tour we had 10 people in total, 6 went in first and 4 people in second. When the 20 minutes were up that lady would not leave and give others a chance and she was blocking me from even leaving so I stayed in there longer. In fact, the tour guides do not say "hey please get out of the cage your time is up" it kind of depends on how long you want to stay out. I am a person that gives others a chance so I was nice enough to even leave, I probably could have stayed out there for an hour and no one would have cared. Improvements: 4 people max in a cage, when your time is up, tell them they have to leave the cage and give others a chance. Highly recommend for the experience, I was able to see 5 sharks at once.

The pros - 1. Seeing the sharks in open water is so different from seeing it in an aquarium. It was cool. 2. We went at 9am and it was perfect timing as it would have been too hot to go any later. 3. We saw 3 - 4 sharks that morning. 4. Staff was super friendly . The one and only con that made me dislike my experience - Before I went,I made sure I read up about the company and was happy to find that it promotes Shark global conservation and seem to run a good company with good morals. It was my fault for being naive and to not think it thru thoroughly. Because our tour group had 12 people, we had to split up into 2 groups. While we were on the boat waiting the first group to finish, we saw the sharks swam to the end of the boat. Without hesitation, our tour guide started to throw chum into the water to get the sharks to swim near the cage. Our tour guide claimed that it's a piece of tuna that they caught just in their last outing. I don't buy it and it didn't matter cause it doesn't change the story. It saddens me that while they claim to help people love sharks more and hopefully conserve such beautiful creatures. But there they were conditioning sharks to associate feeding with the presence of humans. They really are not doing their part at all. So like I said, I wish I could have loved the experience as it was on our bucket list but it just made me sad that I was part of something that is destroying the sharks natural habitat.

This was one of the coolest things we got to do while in oahu. The sharks are so serene and peaceful, and the staff educated us on both the sharks and their habitat, how we rely on them, etc. it was so cool! My husband and I went with our best friends and all got to be in the cage together. It was a one of a kind experience! I highly recommend bringing your own go pro or renting one from the company. The footage is SO worth it! You'll want to remember this forever.
