This is a must for anyone visiting Skagway wanting a more personal, relaxed and less crowded tour into the Yukon and surrounds. From the ease of booking through to the thorough and easy to follow instructions and directions to the tour office, our anticipation for this mid morning adventure grew.
Our driver and tour guide, Bryan Terrell, was a wealth of knowledge regarding the history of the town and the gold rush era through the Yukon. His sense of humour and personality meant the tour was always interesting, informative, relevant and most enjoyable. The smaller tour group bus meant the numbers were lower than the big bus tours, and the tour became more personal, with many opportunities to stop to snap the breathtaking scenery as we travelled from Alaska into Canada's Yukon and then back into Alaska as we returned to Skagway in the afternoon.
Lunch at Caribou Crossing, after the big tour buses had departed, was a real bonus, with a hearty chicken and veg dinner, coffee and donuts. Bryan then guided us through the museum explaining about one man's work of building a collection of both native and extinct wildlife which are on display. Truly amazing!! Then a look at a sled dog mushing camp in action, and the opportunity to get up close and personal with the sled dog puppies.
A safe and comfortable drive back to Skagway ended our time with Bryan on this tour. We highly recommend this tour, and commend Bryan on his driving and tour guidance. Thanks indeed for the exerience.
