We had a super time and it was the best excursion from our whole cruise through Alaska. Very easy to walk to the location and the check in process was easy. Boarded the 28 or so passenger bus and there were only 8 of us on the tour. Bryan is a wealth of knowledge and shared some great stories on the trip. We stopped and took pictures on the way to the Yukon, with some of the most breath taking views. The dog sledding location served a nice BBQ meal and we spent a couple of hours meeting the puppies, and the sledding dogs. Again we were fortunate that we were the last group for the day. So only 8 of us. Enabled us to talk to the people there and learn alot about the dogs and there owners lives up there. The weather was just incredible too. On the way back we got to stop and meet some locals and chat for a while. I have always liked to learn about the people that move to these places and what they do during the long harsh winters. The sad part was that part of the Yukon was on fire and was raging when we were there as the wind had changed direction. Struck by lightening just a couple of days earlier. Bryan also stops at some locations that he has found over the 6 or so years that he has been doing the tours. So, we considered doing the Yukon train ride. Here is why we chose to do the Southeast Tours. The train only goes so far and does not give the opportunity to stop. Also, we saw the trains stop at the end of the track and then people get on large buses back to the town. We could not have been happier. Hope you have a great experience too and if you have any questions, reach out......

We forgot our passports and thought we were going to lose out on the tour but management was able to upgrade us to a Jeep excursion so that we had time to run back and get them. Having a Jeep allowed us to stop several times along the long Yukon Trail to see all the beautiful sites. The dog sledding was a fun experience, similar to a 10 minute roller coaster ride. The kids loved it almost as much as the Husky puppy play area where we spent so much time that we missed out on the chicken lunch.

WOW! The previous reviews were correct. When you get a warm greeting from Heath the Operator in the Popcorn Shop ask for Bryon. He gives a great local/not local perspective of Skagway and the Yukon Territory. Great community with an awesome last frontier history. The scenery and wild life on the Canadian side is awesome. Be grateful you didn't take the train. Even though heat conditions were dangerous for the sled dogs to run in the Puppies were great. Heath told us up front we were going to be refunded for the sled experience because of the Red Flag conditions. Meeting a 5 time Iditirod Finisher who is only 7 was awesome. The food is good and home cooked. Take some time to talk to the staff at the kennel, incredible knowledge on the dog sled sport. We told Bryon at the end of the trip that the reviews were right and we couldn't wait to share our praise of his service.
