We enjoyed seeing all of the jets and helicopters. The below deck set ups were fun and informative! We would have liked to see more of the control tower but it was only for tours and the small children jumping around during the whole tour pushed us to a small corner that made it impossible to hear and see anything. When we tried to look around at the end we were told we needed to move on. That was a total waste of our time.

Amazing to visit this piece of American History. It was a great experience to get on this massive ship! They had volunteers who were very insightful among the tour. They even looked up a relative that served on the ship in the 70’s and emailed us pictures the same day.

The midway was amazing! We recommend starting your tour with the “battle of Midway” movie. It really puts things into perspective. Take time to listen to the live takeoff and landing lectures on the flight deck and go up into the “island”. The veteran volunteers are a wealth of information and demonstrate such pride in their service & country. Speaking to them really adds to the experience. With two pre-teens, I was concerned that they would be miserable learning about US history, but my daughter said our Midway tour was one of her favorite San Diego activities. Of course, let the kids do the flight simulator ride. It’s hysterical to watch them on the video screen!
