Just awesome, what an amazing experience. Before going in the water, you will be educated on ground rules when around Manatees, e.g., to move slowly, don´t force to touch them, no kicking, no splashing, just smooth floating, which is very easy with the wet suits provided. Yet, like every time when people see there is an awesome attraction, there are too many people in the water and of course there are people screaming und kicking. Sometimes it´s hard not to do that, so that you don´t bump in other people – but if they were all floating… We weren´t allowed to use fins, but we didn´t need them. The water was mostly shallow and steady water. We did the semi-private tour with Captain Ross, who was very nice and supportive. Captain Ross also took underwater pictures and videos with an amazing quality, the price for the photo USB stick was very fair and worth it (42$ in November 2022 – not a tourist rip off as in most other places, but really lovely done!). The Manatees were just amazing and are now our spiritual animals.
Not sure how relevant it is to get the semi-private tour. The boat trip is really short and in the water the tourists are all together in the same spots anyway.
