We did get to see a few manatees on our tour, none of them came close enough to touch unfortunately, still neat nonetheless! BUT the pictures the “photographer” took were terrible!! Not one single picture of my self or husband with manatees, and all the others were blurry or just odd. Do the tour BUT take your own pics!! (Wish I had known that!)

Online sign-up was a breeze and quick. I picked this tour for the limited number of (6) people and this company because of their Covid policy on their website. Plenty of (free) parking in their lot. Everyone was masked during check-in & orientation. Very efficient, knowledgeable and friendly staff! They were wiping down the counters with cleaning solution. I arrived early and two sweet dogs kept me company in the reception area. They have reasonably priced manatee gift shop. First was a short, informative, humorous and thorough orientation. Then the fun part of getting into a (sanitized) wetsuit. They ask you to come in a swimsuit and there’s changing rooms to put them on. Tight is good. I was not able to sit too comfortably but I wasn’t cold and able to swim fine in the Dec. water. There are open cubbies to leave sneakers & anything you don’t want to leave on the boat. Then we hopped on a little bus that drove us to the pier about 5 minutes away. They pull right up to the boat. There is a sharp decline down to the floating dock (depending on tides) which is the same level as the boat. You can just walk on the pontoon which is enclosed and heated. Would highly encourage especially if you’re thinking of the 6:30 tour which tend to have more manatees. 15 min ride (no wake zones) to the first site which is spring enclosed by ropes. You can’t float off and if you stand up (NOT recommended as it kicks up the silt and affects underwater visibility), your feet touch the ground. BTW those wetsuits really help you float! I had a hard time getting my feet down even if I wanted to. They also provide noodles. As long as you’re not afraid of water, you don’t need to know how to swim, just move your arms. Now the magical part...so many manatees just under the water!!! And schools and schools of fish! #Justtakemymoney Our captain (Dan) & guide (Ross) were experienced and funny. They wore masks m until we went into the water. Only thing different was I wish they also wore them after we got out of the water, however it’s understandable as our faces were wet. 🥰 That said, I felt safe and had a phenomenal, unforgettable time!!! I wish I could upload the pictures they took but I get a file upload error.

Currently, we have made many adjustments due to covid ..... we strive to keep our customers safe and comfortable! Great experience but with covid make sure you ask about masks - other attendees did not have masks which was stressful Guides were great and made sure u saw manatees !

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review and we are glad you had a great experience! We wanted to take a moment to clarify our covid preparedness!! We ARE requiring our crew to wear face masks in the shop and our guides and captains are prepared with face coverings too. We do NOT REQUIRE our guests to wear masks; though we must say that nearly 80 to 90% are choosing to wear them while in the building, but wearing them less as they seem to feel safe while outdoors and on the vessels. We have decreased our group sizes, spread out our tour times so there is less guest exposure and reduced the price of private tours to encourage booking your own adventure. We bleach all surfaces in the shop at least 10 times per day, sanitize the van daily and follow CDC and DUke University guidelines for disinfecting our gear. Though we may be far from perfect we are making many sincere efforts to keep our guests safe!! Many tour companies have changed nothing and we are proud of our progress!! We know that we can not please everyone, but know that many would be angry if we REQUIRED face coverings...it's a tough time to know the right thing to do. We do our very best.....and we are very sorry you felt it wasn't enough!! Best wishes to you and your family...we hope this pandemic leaves us all more grateful for all the 'normal' things we take for granted...like breathing freely! Peace, Love and Manatees to you~!
