Experience the Sonoma wine region in a unique way – on a San Francisco-style trolley, for an open-air ride through rustic, sun-kissed Sonoma Valley. Stop at 3 different wineries to sip and swirl fine Northern California varietals. This open-air trolley will let you experience the picturesque vineyards like no other tour. On this tour, your friendly and knowledgeable guide will take you to three wineries for tastings. You will visit Sonoma's top historic landmarks and enjoy lunch during one of the scenic stops. The tour starts at 10:00 and and ends around 4:30.

Must be 21 years or older to take this tour.

Your day in California wine country starts as you hop aboard the Sonoma Wine Trolley, modeled after the famous historical cable cars of San Francisco. Enjoy the breeze as your knowledgeable tour guide whisks you off to four outstanding Sonoma-area wineries, known for both their wines and their hospitality. Each wine tasting takes place at the winery and a representatives at each winery will explain the different varietals you’ll sample and the background of the wineries (wine tasting fees are not included and you can expect fees of $30 to $40). There will be wonderful photo opportunities on this tour and your friendly guide will be happy to take a photo or two of your group so you can document your memorable day in wine country.

We really enjoyed this experience. It was well run and well organized. They had everything coordinated with the wineries so they were ready for us as soon as the trolley arrived at each winery. I highly recommend the wine trolley.

The Sonoma Trolley was exceptional. The pickup location was great as well, even with the injection of a threat of citing the Trolley operator for being parked in the Court Houe Sonoma Square for more than five minutes. I think the gentleman either woke up on the wrong side of the bed or someone poured water into his cereal. Having that to start off the day was indeed the worst of our experience. The Trolley operator was knowledgeable of the area and even provided time for a brief tour of the historical Baracks in Sonoma Suare. The Trolley transported us all, to four different winery’s and Vinyards to include lunch and a tour through one of the larger Vineyards in Sonoma (Benzinger). In each of the Winery’s a Wine Tasting was provided with the opportunity to purchase. This was a great tour for me as it provided me with an opportunity to observe and enjoy the rolling Vinyards as we drove through and past. Not being familiar with the area It provided our party an opportunity to participate at multiple venues that we on our own, otherwise may have gotten loss on our own, or failed to see all together. The highlight of this Trolley trip for me was twofold, with the opportunity to meet people from other states and countries (Canada) and culminate the tour in one the Wineries that provided an ultimate tasting and education from a trained Chef who taught the experience of aromas and the pallet and how the senses and pallet interacts with wine. This was a great tour, for six hours, I was never bored, and continuously anticipated what was in store at the next stop.

Thank you for the great review and detailed comments. Each person takes away something special from the Sonoma Valley Wine Trolley Wine Tours. However the other guests that you get to meet and build friendships with and the experience at the wineries is high on that list. Paradise Ridge offered that wonderful tasting experience and is also one of my favorite stops. Cheers.

My wife and I experienced a wonderful experience in "Wine Country" on the Sonoma Wine Trolley. Our driver was fun and had everything well organized. Your 1st stop at the Ravenswood Winery was very educational and fun as our group was taken into the vineyard fields to learn all about the different types of grape vines and what goes into producing fine wine. We even picked grapes off of the vines and tasted them. Our next stop at Buena Vista Winery was equally fascinating although this was an indoor tour of the wine storage "caves." We were than treated to a wonderful lunch arranged by our trolley driver on a beautifuloutdoor patio. The next stop was the one blemish on the tour, one that most of our group agreed that we could have done without. We were ushered into a tasting room at another winery (which I will not name) for a very unremarkable tasting session. The final stop was at the Mayo Winery, a very small family run unit. Our hostess was both entertaining and informative and the different wines there were very good. We were glad that we chose to take this "Trolley Tour." Worth the $$.
