Learn to surf on this 2-hour group lesson on Oahu. Join a group of students and discover how to ride the waves like some of the Island's most famous celebrities with the help of a certified, professional instructor. We have small student to instructor ratio of 1 instructor for every 3-4 students. Waikiki Surf Lesson starts a 10 minute safety slide show inside our surf shop, followed by heading to the beach and practicing on the sand for another 10 minutes. In our 20 year experience, we know that surfing is muscle memory, so when first timers master their surf stance then they tend to get up on their very first wave.

If we were just reviewing the instructors, I would say 4-5 stars but there are a few things that need to be considered. Overall, the instructors were good with instruction and my kids had a good time. The biggest issue was the location of the sufing which was right over the coral reefs, where all of my kids got cuts, and at least 2/3 of the group also cut themselves. While I understand they wanted to be located near their office, the location of the surfing was a major downside where many people chose not to surf because of the danger. There were other locations that were much safer for surfing.

Had a great time and instructors were super patient and gave great advice. Took my 21 and 18 year old daughters and can’t wait to go again!

We had an awesome time, riding maybe 6 or 7 waves in total. There were 11 students in our group, and another lesson or two happening next to us, so a few times we ran into others or had to stop riding the wave because people got in our way. If you go, be sure to pay attention to the safety briefing and get out of people’s way when you’re done riding the wave. Don’t just rest in the area where people will be riding waves toward you.
