Although the wait was about 2 hours, this tour was probably the highlight of our trip! The view is just breathtaking. It really is the real way to see manhattan! Worth every cent!
Was told to arrive half an hour before departure and got there at 3.15 pm for a 4 pm flight once sandwiched in after security it was fairly obvious i wasn't leaving at 4 pm which would have been the ideal time to fly as it was the time to book. Then at the confirmation desk had to pay 30 dollars this wasn't mentioned during the booking via telephone (a scheme where yanks try to get more money off tourists). Then sat and stood around for an hour without an apology or even asked if you fancy a glass of water. When asked why the long delay the staff present didn't seem to be interested, at 5.10 pm we finally took off when the sun was right in my eyes (not ideal for taking photos a shame as this was the clearest sky was that week) this was my birthday and was my treat to myself i ended up treating myself to a nice meal with fantastic service at grand central station later on. After the flight had finished i didn't bother to see my photo as 1 i didn't want to give the company any more money and 2 knew my face wouldn't have been a happy one in the in the photo. The only advice i would give to tourists is not to pay a lot of money for a helicopter trip with bad service from arrogant staff
This was quite expensive and even though we booked it weeks ahead the line ups were huge. The view from the helicopter was disappointing to say the least. We didn't get close to statute of liberty, Empire State Building, Chrysler building etc. we had better views from the Staten Island ferry.
