Best experience ever I lived!! Is a very serious company and really feel you safe!!
Although the weather was not great on the day of our flight, it was still very enjoyable.
Only request, option to obtain a digital image of the photo, otherwise 5 stars ! Many thanks
After visiting our dream destination of New York for the first time, we thought that it was a good idea to have a helicopter ride to get a good view across the city.
The ride was only approximately 12 minutes long, but we managed to get some great photos even so that we decided we no longer needed to do the free Staten Island ferry to see the Statue of Liberty as we got some great photos from the sky.
Our pilot was great, he gave us a lot of information when we were on board and was quite funny. I think he must use the same spiel each time though as he did repeat himself once and it sounded a little rehearsed - but we didn't find that a problem.
So why 3 stars? Well unfortunately, the only enjoyable part of the experience was the actual flight itself other than that we found everybody else we encountered quite rude and uninformative. We arrived at the venue 45min early and were basically told to go away for another 15min as we were too early. We were then led inside and asked to pay the Heliport fees of 35 each which we were expecting. The lady asked if we had any bags and we said we did and she informed us we needed to store them in a locker which again we were aware of - however when she then handed me the card machine the total was 75. I questioned this and she told me there was a 5 charge for the lockers! This wasn't mentioned anywhere that I have seen nor was it explained to us, we had to question the amount. Very naughty as we basically had no other choice.
We were then put in a number of lines and told to watch this safety video - nobody was really paying attention to whether we were actually watching it or not, I actually missed some of it as I went to the toilet. Afterwards we were then basically dragged out to a helicopter with no verbal interaction. We were asked to stand in front of the helicopter and the guy took out an old silver digital camera and took a photo which we were practically forced to view before we left. There were also 2 other couples in the same helicopter as us and I can't imagine the people in the middle at the back got a good view, but lucky for us we were at the front. When we all got out of the helicopter, one of the ladies from another couple was trying to take some photos and was practically pushed back in to the building.
Overall the actual experience was great, just everything surrounding it has much to be improved, I assume the restrictions after the horrendous events of a few years ago now restrict the air in which things can fly, although the experience itself cost quite a lot given the length of the flight.
Would I recommend it? It is a good opportunity to see some sights.. some friends who have gone have described it as a great experience, although I probably wouldn't do it a second time, but it was good to do it once!
