This tour is the perfect way to travel the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. You will start with a wonderful BBQ lunch at our riverside dock in downtown Frankfort, KY.

Then, you will participate in a river tour that gives you a birds eye view of the water that birthed bourbon. Along your river tour, expert guides will spin tales of the story of bourbon, the men and women who created it and the "then and now" of where bourbon takes us.

After leaving the river, you will travel to the distillery, where you will go on the "Old Taylor Tour". Take a walk through bourbon history alongside E.H. Taylor Jr., the man who revolutionized the industry. Included in this tour will be a progressive bourbon tasting of EH Taylor products.

Tour route includes stairs and there is a lot of walking involved. Comfortable shoes and clothing are recommended.

Buffalo Trace Distillery

Take a walk through bourbon history alongside E.H. Taylor Jr., the man who revolutionized the industry. From the Old Taylor House; to the OFC Building and OFC Fermenter #7, nicknamed “Old Taylor”; and finally to Warehouse C, you will see both the remnants and still-standing structures of what Taylor built, learn about his desire for perfection and purity in the bourbon making processes, and how he helped craft the industry as it is today. Tour route includes stairs and there is a lot of walking involved. Comfortable shoes and clothing are recommended. Those with acrophobia and/or fear of walking across metal grates may want to seek a different tour. For safety purposes, this tour is not available for guests under 12 years old. This tour route is not ADA accessible. This tour includes a tasting of some of our award-winning products.

I enjoyed seeing the very early buildings and learning what took place in those buildings then and now.

Thank you for the review. We take all reviews very seriously, as we are just a two, and sometimes three person team, and a family. I have to assume you are talking about your guide on the boat portion of the tour, not the distillery guide. And since we assume that this is the case; we are very sorry we were not animated enough for you. We give it absolutely everything we've got, physically and emotionally, when we run a tour. I particularly remember your group and singing Happy Birthday for your husband and having a great conversation with he and you over boating the "Great Loop" someday. He spoke at great depth about his knowledge and experience on boats with I, your tour guide. It may seem like simple words ,..."would liked to have had a more...", anything... but we do take all feedback very personally. We will make sure we figure out a way amp up our delivery style on future tours. Sorry for being so personal, but what we do is personal!
