My family had the wonderful experience of zip lining on Monday, December 29. There were 13 people in our group and we enjoyed getting to know everyone. My children are 11 and 9 and I was worried that this would be too much for them. My husband chose The Original Canopy Tour based on prior reviews - the lack of crowds and safety. We were not interested in doing the superman way above the trees or jumping off a huge tarzan swing. Our group had four guides instead of two because the kids didn't weigh enough to make it across some of the longer lines and had to go with the guides (they wouldn't allow the kids to go with my husband and I for safety reasons). It was very apparent that safety was the most important thing. The guides were efficient and reassuring and were absolutely wonderful with our children (Johnny, Ronan, Gato and one more who's name I can't remember - sorry)! The kids had a ball; they did the Tarzan swing, all 15 zip lines, the rappelling and the tree climb. I highly recommend the Tarzan swing - it is a blast! Not too big but big enough to be a little scary and then a lot of fun! It was obvious that the guides liked one another and worked very well together, and I believe it may be a family business. I thought the prices were excellent for the experience - it was worth every penny. When we got back to the hotel, the woman at the front desk asked which zip line tour we did. After I told her, she said we had made a good choice, they were all great people. I highly recommend using this company.

As someone who doesn't like thrill, I had an amazing experience at the Original Canopy Tour. From the moment you get there, the staff makes you feel safe and well taken care of. I can't thank Rami and Luis enough for making me feel comfortable when I was out of my comfort zone. Although I was incredibly scared, I started off slow. By the time I got to the 800 meter zip line, I was having so much fun! We also had a great time repelling and climbing in a strangler fig tree. Our guides pointed out cool wildlife. There are also amazing views from the canopy. If you're like me and very hesitant, go for it! Or, if you like a little bit of adrenaline, go for it! Thanks once again for a safe, enjoyable, beautiful tour of the Monteverde Canopy!

Excellent Guides, a very well layed out Canopy Tour with 14 ZIP lines, a Tarzan rope swing, rappel and climb through the tree. We always felt safe and not rushed. The guides are great. Recommend that you give one of them your camera for stills and movies. This frees you up to enjoy the experience. Don't be intimidated by the Tarzan swing, which is the very first adventure. It gets easier after that. By the time you get to the 800 Meter ZIP line (that's over half a mile) you will be totally relaxed and ready to enjoy the views. We were staying at the Cloud Forect Lodge, and the Original Canopy Tour is right on the property, so it was very convenient. Would definitely recommend as a Family Friendly adventure.
