Marvel at the staggering collection of awards Walt won, and don't miss the model of the Disneyland as he initially imagined it. Upgrade to also gain access to the Diane Disney Miller Exhibition Hall. Tour this inspiring museum at your own pace, staying as long as you wish during opening hours. Before you leave, make sure to take some gorgeous photos of the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco Bay through the museum's wall of glass and from the grounds.

We loved reading about Walt Disney's family and seeing some never before items. I thought I would need to drag my husband out because he spent so much time reading.

Multi-media presentation of the life and work of Walt. You get to see family photos and history of the Disney family. If you are not going by car, take a taxi or Uber to get to Presidio. There is a free shuttle bus that can take you to the Embarcadero in 20 minutes afterwards.

The Walt Disney Family Museum is a well put together exhibit of the history of both Walt Disney and to a lesser extent the company that bears his name. It’s broken out chronologically (for the most part) and for even the casual Disney fan, it’s unlikely that there will be much that you haven’t heard before. There are many more items than expected that are reproductions - but most won’t notice unless you read the tags closely. It’s a bit pricey for what you see and the amount of time it takes to go through. 90 minutes felt like more than enough time. The folks working there are very helpful and nice and parking in the area is somewhat easy compared to other parts of the city. It’s important to remember it’s not an “official” museum - and if you look at it like a well put together “fan museum” you will probably enjoy it more.
