An epic outdoor adventure for some novice mountain men and woman on a beautiful Saturday in Southern Oregon! It's no secret the last year has been stressful for all of us, particularly for me and some fellow engineering students in the thick of our studies at Oregon Tech; adapting to distance learning, masks upon masks, the fires, a professor strike, the daunting task of writing the cannon on geoengineering ethics, and being assigned responsibility to reverse climate change. We needed a break! Noah's Rafting gave us exactly that! A whole day later and I am grinning ear to ear thinking about our 13+ miles of rapids, rafting, and sunshine on the Upper Klamath River. Introductory training in safety and maritime fundamentals and we were quickly paddling into our first whitewater. I cannot say enough about our guide Captain Sweet! He is incredibly skilled, charismatic, and easily the kind of guy you have no qualms spending a day on the river learning from, leaning on, and getting to know. We conquered several level 3 and 4 obstacles including the famous 4+ Caldera stretch! My friends and I feel accomplished, rejuvenated, and better connected to the planet we are training to protect. We cannot wait to return to the raft and pursue our next adventure! Thank you Noah's Rafting and Captain Brandon Sweet for providing us with such an incredible day! See you again soon!!
