This hike was fantastic! I did the 5am moderate hike. That morning I was questioning my sanity getting up that early in Vegas. But I also knew if I was going to do a hike I had to beat the heat (it was 105 degrees that day). It was a beautiful morning. It was just me and Yvette, my guide. We drove into the part at sunrise and immediately saw a bunch of big horn sheep. We parked and set off on the first of our hikes. The terrain is a little rough - you definitely need sneakers or hiking shoes as you're walking on rocks, in sand, etc. Yvette shared great nuggets of info about the park, its history, etc. She challenged me as much as I was comfortable - letting me decide how easy or hard to make the different hikes we did. We climbed to the top of one of the points and saw spectacular views while we stood and caught our breath (high altitude hiking!). It was stunning. Yvette was a spectacular guide, knowledgeable, fun, laid back. I would absolutely recommend this hike and Yvette and I can't wait to go back to Vegas to do it again!
