Bus was clean, tour started and ended on time. However, within Washington DC didnt get sufficient time to see the gallery and the other 2 museums in the area.
This was a very good, if a bit 'busy' day! Tour started at 6.30 in the morning in Time Square, a short-ish walk from our hotel, and then a comfortable 4 hour, air conditioned, bus ride to Washington. this included a stop for refreshments, and loo break, half way there.
On arrival, we started with a visit to Arlington Cemetery, seeing the graves of the Kennedys, and the many lines of Military headstones, the Lincoln Memorial, the Iwo Jima Memorial, the Korean War memorial, and the Vietnam memorial, in 'blowtorch' heat, approx. 37 degrees!
From there to the Whitehouse, and other areas of the city, before a visit to the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum for lunch, with its excellent facilities, for approx 1 1/4 hours.
Then returning back to New York about 9.15pm.
Credit must be given to Jorge', our tour guide, who, super efficiently guided an eclectic mix of nationalities around the city all day, like herding cats!, whilst giving us the benefit of his encyclopaedic knowledge. A pleasure to be with.
All in all, recommended
A very long day But we'll worth it Would recommend if you only have 1 day for Washington DC
