  • Infants and small children can ride in a pram or stroller
  • Service animals allowed
  • Public transportation options are available nearby
  • Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness
  • Between November and March, when the trail is not safe due to snow and ice accumulation, we substitute the hike with additional time in Yosemite Valley.
  • The Giant Sequoias Grove is located at a higher elevation and the hike is dependent on trail conditions, especially from October through May. Ice and snow might make the trail unsafe to hike. The decision of whether it is safe to go on the hike will be made on a day by day basis. Therefore, a visit cannot be guaranteed. However, while the trail might be closed, guests get to spend more time in Yosemite Valley. There you can see all the other great sights Yosemite has to offer, including El Capitan, Inspiration Point, Half Dome, Yosemite Falls and more.
  • As tour sizes vary, transportation is in a 15-passenger van or up to a 40-passenger tour bus
  • Tour makes stops at approximately 8:30am for breakfast, 1pm for lunch and on the trip back for dinner. Meals are not included
  • For hotel pickups, please select the Hilton Union Square if your hotel is not listed
  • California law requires tour guests to bring a car safety seat for all children under 8 years and under 4' 9" (1.4 meters) in height. Any guest that does not provide their child's safety seat at the time of the tour and does not inform the tour operator may not be allowed to board the tour and will not be subject to refund.

5 stars for Glenda as a tour guide! She was a pure ray of sunshine - so friendly, warm, and high-energy throughout the 15-hour trip. She was very knowledgeable on park history but also gave us some interesting Gold Rush background/stories on the drive towards Yosemite. She was so caring too: she got us lots of snacks including coffee, electrolytes/sports drinks, and made sure we had sufficient bathroom or stretching breaks or awareness of what was next on the itinerary so we could plan what we wanted to use the break time for. Some logistics: on the way we had a breakfast stop at Safeway and then a bathroom break at Mariposa, before a few photo-op stops at Yosemite (including the iconic view of Half Dome, Bridalveil Falls and El Capitan all together), and finally, around noon, 2 hours free time in the park - but if you include time for a quick lunch, bathroom break, a few mins for gift shop browsing, that left only about enough time for a short walk to the Lower Yosemite falls, some photos and relaxation time there, and back. On the way out of Yosemite, we had a photo-op stop closer up to El Capitan, a gas station stop - the only gas station at Yosemite apparently, which was interesting because it also turned out to be kind of a photo-op stop with the contrast of green trees and snow (there wasn't snow at any of our other stops for the most part, or in the park, at the lower elevations we stayed at). Lastly, we had a dinner stop around 5:45pm, and then a quick bathroom break at Livermore before we were dropped off at our pickup points in the city.

DO NOT BOOK between Nov and Feb the Yosemite National Park and Giant Sequoia Day Tour. They sell the tickets but have no intention of taking you to the Giant Sequoias. Booked the tour 3 days out in early Dec and was told 1 day out that we can't visit the Giant Sequoias due to weather. The weather had been perfectly dry and sunny all week. The tour guide informed us due to liability reason this had not been included for the past month and will not resume until at least Feb. I was refunded 20% but told the fine print allows for cancellation due to bad weather. Apparently, no rain and sunny days is considered bad weather. Great tour of Yosemite but total scam for the Giant Sequoias.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We want to clarify the situation regarding the Giant Sequoias and the weather conditions. An advisory about the potential cancellation of the Giant Sequoias visit due to trail conditions is sent upon booking, 24 hours before the tour, and again at 6pm the day prior. We do this to ensure our guests are informed and can adjust their expectations accordingly. Regarding the weather, it’s important to note that the weather conditions in Yosemite Valley, where the tour takes place, can be very different from those at the Giant Sequoias, due to the higher elevation of the Sequoia area. Precipitation from previous days and weeks can result in the trail being covered in ice and snow and, therefire, being unsafe or impassable. We put guest safety above all else.

We're am thankful that I got a ride to and back from Yosemite. Same as everyone’s comment, Yosemite is beautiful. What surprised me is how old the shuttle was, the windows kept fogging up, the driver’s microphone kept making static noise, and the bus was giving burning smell which caused the driver’s concern to make a stop half way to call the headquarter. The driver did his absolute best to make it comfortable and pleasant for everybody. Not sure if other trips experienced the same thing, we didn’t get back to San Francisco till 9:20pm, which was absolutely later than expected. Another disappointment is that for the morning pickup, I could have walked two blocks to a much closer pickup point, rather than being told to meet at motel 6, which was a 10 mins car ride. The website didn’t give me the option to choose a different pick up point at fishermans wharf. The third disappointment is the lack of notice on Viator to provide tips to the driver. It was only mentioned to us when we were on the bus however we did not have cash on us. This led to an awkward departure off the bus where we left off with a thank you and a very obvious, displeased driver. It left a final bad taste for us. We’re happy to provide tips but viator failed to give us notice to set the expectation. Like any website where you purchase a product, it was assumed to be an end to end purchase. We don't tip flight stewards or theme park hosts. No different here. Last the visitation to the giant sequoia trees was cancelled due to foreseen weather conditions. The driver mentioned that between November and March, this is excluded yet this part of the trip is still included in the trip title. This is deceptive in that this is knowingly advertised prior to payment and declared unavailable only after payment. Please change the ad title to reflect the reality. With so few choices of tour groups, this company does have quite the monopoly and so we’re left with not much option and a very high cost. We enjoyed everything up until the final tipping situation. Though not expressed verbally, the driver's response led to an unfortunate ending for us. We wish him well nonetheless.

Thank you for your feedback, and we’re sorry for the challenges you encountered during your tour. We understand your disappointment and would like to clarify a few points. Regarding the pick-up, we always aim to offer the most convenient pick-up options. If we had been informed about the location of your hotel, we would have gladly provided the nearest pick-up point available to you. As for the Giant Sequoias, an advisory about the potential cancellation due to trail conditions is sent to all guests upon booking, 24 hours prior to the tour, and again at 6pm the evening before the tour. We understand how disappointing this can be, and we’re sorry for the inconvenience caused. Regarding tipping, we want to clarify that gratuities for the guide are optional and are mentioned in the "What's Included" section of the tour description. The information specifies that guide gratuities are not included in the tour price, which is why it was mentioned on the bus as a reminder. We apologize for any discomfort this may have caused and appreciate your understanding. We value your feedback and will work to improve our service to future guests. We would like to offer you a 20% refund on your tour and our thanks for sharing your experience.
