Our guides Ben and Nikki were great. Ben had lots of tales and historical knowledge about places along the river. The ride was fun but we expected to paddle more. Maybe we will try kayaking next time.

HI! Kayaking is a great option if you want to paddle lots because you are propelling yourself with just the guide leading the way. In addition, the smaller the boat the bigger the wave...so the rapids seem bigger. If you prefer to be in a raft, we do have trips that are more continuous in nature and require a lot of paddling. Consider the Piedra, San Miguel or Upper Animas.

My family and I booked a 1/2 day rafting trip. All the staff was great. Our raft guide was Keaton, and he was very informative about the trip, the Durango area and made our raft trip really fun.

What a ride!!! The water level was super high for late July/August. We were blessed to have Ben C. As our guide and that is what probably made the adventure complete! We were a party of 8 (which took up the entire raft) and Ben fit just fine into the family! Be sure to make this part of your vacation plans when you visit Durango!
