Great day with Sultan. He was prompt picking us up and others at all the locations. He gave great insight and information about the day to set expectations. He gave good information as we traveled without narrating the who 12 hour trip. The folks at the Youkon River stop where we had dinner clearly know him and respect him. Good stop and good community people along the Dalton Highway. We stopped long enough and often enough to not feel trapped or restless in the van for the 6 hours out and the 6 hours back. The landscape along the route is amazing and enthralling. Sultan points out elements of significance, again without the lecture narrative. We became friendly with our co-travelers and really enjoyed the trip. We were very fortunate to have great clear sky and while the Aurora were a low KP (3.5 ish) they were still spectacular ghosts in the sky. Sultan shared his photography with us (iPhone airdrop or WhatsApp) and he did a great job. His experience really shows on this trip. As a 25+ year UPS person I would not have wanted to drive those roads, and doing so for 12 hours is impressive. My sister felt safe in the van and didn't get motion sick (surprisingly). Though I will say the roads are rough and this is not a pleasure ride in a limo, that road is literally the Ice Road Truckers road. We highly recommend the trip and more so with Sultan. If you are more timid and want constant narrative please take the big bus to coldfoot. I would not have preferred that style. Sultan made the trip great

The drive was lòng to Artic Circle. Don’t expect the wow factor for this tour. The van is a bit cramped with 12 people. However, Sultan is awesome. Bring snacks and hand warmers. The best thing of the tour was Aurora. Spectacular views of Aurora along the way back. Brrrrrrr cold when outside the van to view Aurora and sunset.

This trip was amazing!! Yes - it is a really long road trip, do you need to be prepared. Bring your snacks, phone, kindle, charger, etc…and get ready to sit. You will lose all cell service for about 10 hrs of the trip - so download a book or your fave show. The van was big and the tour group size was small. We did not feel cramped and had a bit room. Which was amazing for a 14 hr roadtrip. We stopped at a trail head - where we saw sled dogs. Then onto the Dalton highway, the magical forest, Yukon Base Camp for dinner (which was really good), then onto to cross the Arctic Circle. There were plenty of bathroom breaks on the way up, but a few less on the way back. On the way back - we chased the lights! Mother Nature put on an amazing show and we from spot to spot to see it! Best part - the tour guide had a camera and made sure to get photographs of all of us with the lights behind us, which he airdropped us at the end of the tour!! He also shared his photos/videos of the lights and he took some dash cam videos on the way up. Overall - this was an excellent tour choice and I would highly recommend!!!
