We recommend Hawaiian Parasail. We had two sets of tandem fliers, the youngest being 9, and it was a great experience. There were six different flights during the hour period on the water. The two captains were friendly and efficient. We chose the 1,000 foot line and the air time is about 10 minutes. It was common to dip in the ocean at the end, but you could request a dry landing only if interested. Also in our group were two observers. The cost is $30 each and it was great to see the experience firsthand, and take pictures/video. It was a beautiful day and a great experience.

This was our first flight but we decided to all out with 1,000 foot of line. We were picked up at our hotel by a shuttle. The driver talked our ear off as he made several sales pitches for tourist traps in the area. Once we arrived we boarded the motor boat and headed out to sea. We were given a safety brief and told what to expect. We were the third couple to take flight that day and the flights prior to us looked nice and smooth. Our flight started out fun and exciting and it was great. Once we got up pretty high the unexpected happen. We got caught up in some very nasty wind gusts. We were actually jerked around pretty good and the parachute actual tilted sideways twice scaring the heck out of me. I was so happy to see the boat getting bigger and that we were not getting hit by anymore gusts of wind. We had the traditional dip in the ocean. Well not really a dip but a drop, we hit so hard my pants almost came off and my wife went completely under. Afterwards for a couple of days my wife had some back pain from the jolting and the splashdown. I, well I got sea sick lol, I forgot all about the boat part of parasailing. So I recommend if you are on the older side like my wife and I you might want to stay at or under the 800 feet line.

this was a memorable and amazing time for my wife and i. 2nd time we've parasailed, first time with waikiki/diamondhead as a background. this was a groupon "bargain", especially for honolulu. the only poor experience was making the reservation at their booth. the booth at the dock isn't clearly marked and when we called, no one answered . apparently the "surfer dude" manning the booth must have been on his cell, but he did call back and gave us directions. when we got there, we felt like a bother to him as we tried making the final reservation. if we hadn't paid already, i would have walked. when we did get on the boat, the two gentlemen running the show were fantastic and made up for the poor service at the booth. the photos taken were well worth the 35.00 we paid (they give you the sd card with many great shots). definitely a fun time.....thanks guys
