Taking this Island Head ferry provides an extra 90 mins on the island over the Daufuskie Ferry!! Highly recommend. We had the perfect amount of time to explore the entire island. Three hours would not have been enough time for lunch & exploring and 5 hours was not TOO much. We arrived about 35 mins early. We found the trailer and received our boarding information. Walked down the dock and the Island Head boats were easily visible. We were provided with 3 options: fast, medium, or slow boat. This was unexpected but much appreciated! We chose the fastest boat. The ride over was fun for the family speeding across the sound. They provided seat cushions and a short commentary of what to expect. Captain Red Beard was friendly, knowledgeable, and polite. We made the mistake of booking the golf cart first with a different company. If we would have booked with Island Head the process would have been much more smooth, so we suggest getting the package deal. Overall, it was a great day exploring beautiful Daufuskie Island.

Great travel experience and value. Golf carts were ready to go with easy pick up and drop off. The Old Daufuski Crab Co was a bit over run though. Lunch (soft shell crab BLT) was fabulous, but took almost 2 hours so plan accordingly.

Devin was our captain coming back from Daufuskie. She was extremely personable, knowledgeable, and made the trip memorable and fun. Would love to come back and find her again. Both couples that were on the ride had an absolute blast chatting with her the whole way.
