Overview

Hawaii looks even better from horseback, so hop on and join us for an adventure you’ll always remember. Led by a friendly guide, you’ll travel through pastures and mountain trails, seeing the gorgeous sights of Oahu’s North Shore along the way, with its clear, blue water, offshore islands, and white sandy beaches. You also get a sneak peek into the Hidden Cave, featured on “Hawaii 5-0”.

You’ll ride to the top of our lookout point and feel proud of yourself for getting there like a real paniolo (Hawaiian cowboy). We look forward to you being a part of our Ohana for a day here at Gunstock Ranch.

CHECK-IN TIME: Check in is 45 minutes prior the start time of tour. A safety demo is given 15 minutes prior to the tour, if you miss the safety demo will have missed your tour
A minimum of 2 people per booking is required
Minimum age is 7 years
All passenger weights MUST be advised at time of booking. 240lb/109kg weight limit.
Long pants and covered shoes are recommended; bring a light jacket if the weather is cold
We ride rain or shine. If canceled due to unsafe weather, you will be given the option of an alternative date or full refund
Phones or small cameras are allowed.
No pregnant or intoxicated riders are allowed to ride.

Great job by the entire crew, especially considering lack of experience by our group (most notably our 6 year old grandnephew). Everyone was infinitely patient with all of us, which was much appreciated.

This was our family's 1st time horseback riding. We did the 1.5 hour scenic ride at 9am in August. They did a fantastic job showing us what to do - how to turn, stop, go etc. The horses knew what to do as well and moved along nicely with the group. Our guide was great and very informative. She answered a lot of questions along the way and even answered random questions we had about Hawaii (like why are the chickens running around loose in Hawaii?!!). I highly recommend this place as they were also reasonably priced compared to other places I looked into. Very professional and friendly. They also had clean bathrooms and shaded areas to get a break from the hot sun!

Was fairly disappointed with the ranch staff and with the ride, although the trail itself was scenic! The staff even tried to rush me on without a helmet because they wanted to take off early for a ride that was scheduled 15 minutes later! During the ride I was told my horse just moved very slow and that’s how he is and that’s what I get for the day. Not only was there no trotting whatsoever but also the horse barely walked at sloth pace. I have been on trail rides elsewhere on the east coast as also in Arizona and other places, and I have to say this was the worst trail ride ever. Super disappointed and it’s a shame they can’t do better with such a great landscape and trails. Seems Gunstock is running this in factory mode to milk the tourist dollars:)

Aloha - Thank you for the feedback as we use it to improve. We offer private advanced rides and it seems like you would have been much happier with that experience. Unfortunately, we are in a terrible drought so our trails our dry and brown. We will take your feedback and work on the things we can improve like explaining your experience better. Mahalo
