1st Alaska Tours was super easy to work with. They were able to accommodate all of our interests at an affordable price. I was able to use hotel points for our first overnight in the Fairbanks Marriott to save a few extra dollars and 1st Alaska still made sure the hotel had our itinerary. Bob (our shuttle bus driver) picked us up Friday morning for the Dog Sledding excursion with Sven, a different Bob and Elizabeth. All parties involved were incredibly knowledgeable, helpful and very amiable. One of my friends had never been on a plane prior to this trip and he was extremely nervous. We took 3 planes, all in the air over 2 hours to get to Fairbanks. Once we saw all 62 sweet dogs greeting us for our sledding experience, he turned to us and said, "This alone, was worth all of the travel, turbulence and fear". We are so grateful to have shared our first moments in Alaska with Bob, Bob, Sven and Elizabeth. On the way back to downtown Fairbanks, Bob was kind enough to stop at a viewing spot for the Alaskan Pipeline. He told us all about the science behind the build and was very well versed in the Alaskan culture. Any question we had, he was able to answer. Bob made for an excellent tour guide and if we lived there, would likely become a good friend.

Most importantly, I would 100% recommend this tour to anyone thinking about doing it. My best friend and myself (27yo females) decided to do a girls trip to Fairbanks in February. We booked a bunch of different tours and by far had the most fun with this particular excursion. It wasn't even because of the tour itself, but the knowledge of the people we interacted with that put them over the top. JT picked us up from the hotel and was very engaging and knowledgeable. He was a big part of what made our time in Alaska so great. As a side note: we booked a different operator for the Chena Hot Springs/Northern Lights Tour and regretted it immensely. We saw JT at the Hot Springs with his group, and he was kind enough to show us what apps we needed to capture the lights, as well as show us the reindeer on property. He is a true gem. The other names escape me (for which I'm sorry because they were wonderful) but they were equally educated and kind to us during our visit. We got to play with two of the puppies inside the yurt--and who doesn't love puppies? Overall, it was a great experience that I would recommend over and over again. It was all made possible by 1st Alaska Tours. I naively didn't realize that there would be such a disparity between tour operators, so go with these guys. They're A+.

Our family of four did a one-hour tour with Joey. We got to meet the Alaskan huskies (and a couple of puppies!) before the tour, It was a spectacular ride through the forest, so peaceful and enjoyable. Highly recommended!
