What To Expect
1
National Civil Rights Museum - Lorraine Motel
From our vehicle you will see the balcony of the Lorraine Motel, room 306 where Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated on April 4, 1968. This is also the location of the National Civil Rights Museum.
2
Slave Haven / Burkle Estate Museum
This was once the home of Jacob Burkle, a German immigrant who chose to participate in the Underground Railroad. This home was a stop on the Underground Railroad and is now a museum.
3
Beale Street
We will tell you the "rest of the story" about this most iconic street. Once referred to as the Negro Mainstreet USA.
4
Historic Mason Temple
This is the world headquarters for the Church of God in Christ. It was here where Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. gave his last speech, "I've Been to the Mountaintop" less than 24 hours before he was assassinated.
5
Clayborn Temple
It was in this church, built in the late 1800's, Sanitation Workers gathered to strategize the strike that caused Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. to come to Memphis.

My cousin and I have experienced tours throughout the south, but none compare to Miss Jackie and A Tour of Possibilities. She was informative and entertaining. There were people from other countries on our tour and Miss Jackie included them in discussions and conversations. You really felt as if you had known her for a long time. I want to go back to Memphis just to go on the tour again. Sharon S. West Palm Beach

I was in Memphis for a festival and had been searching all over to find a tour for black history. I couldn’t find anything, and someone I met at the hotel bar said they were taking a tour that day with a Tour of Possibility. They were sold out for the day. I knew I wouldn’t have time Saturday to attend. I inquired anyway with the company and they were making exceptions for Sunday as they are usually closed. Mrs “Queen” picked us up in her beautifully clean and air conditioned tour bus at exactly 9:30 am. The tour was scheduled for 2 hours but lasted longer. She said we were her only tourist for the day so she made extra stops she normally couldn’t make during her regular scheduled tours. We were able to get pictures at some stops. Queen know her history and it just inspired me so much. Highly recommend this tour!! You won’t be disappointed
