What To Expect
1

2
Slave Haven / Burkle Estate Museum
This was once the home of Jacob Burkle, a German immigrant who chose to participate in the Underground Railroad. This home was a stop on the Underground Railroad and is now a museum.
3
Beale Street
We will tell you the "rest of the story" about this most iconic street. Once referred to as the Negro Mainstreet USA.

Clayborn Temple
It was in this church, built in the late 1800's, Sanitation Workers gathered to strategize the strike that caused Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. to come to Memphis.

This tour was essential for our soul. It’s so important to have a good understanding of where we come from. In the words of Maya Angelo , “ if you don’t know where you come from , you don’t know where you are going.” We have to know our history to understand our now!!! The African American history of Memphis tour provided and directed by our A+ tour guide Queen , did that. Queen is phenomenal. She is an expert on what she does and how she does it ( very knowledgeable ). This tour brought about so much meaning and understanding to the fragments of black history learned or not taught about in school. How can you visit Memphis, without having a good understanding of its history? Thank you Queen for providing a fun, interactive way for doing just that. Everything was simply AMAZING from beginning to the end. We will be back with more people next year.

I can’t express how humbled I am by your kind words. I appreciate this more than you know. “Thank you” doesn’t feel adequate but it’s what I’ll say for now. 👑

My husband and I had the pleasure of touring with "Queen" on July 5th. We truly enjoyed the tour in Memphis. She is very knowledgeable and detailed on the history.. It was truly a learning experience for us and we are grateful that we chose "A Tour of Possibilities". You get a great overview of the city, cultural, and history. Even though we have been to Memphis many times, we never knew the complete history and Queen definitely enlightened us. She has a hands-on approach - she will ask you questions, play music or speeches as they pertained to the area we visited and she gave prizes for correct answer to pop questions. Not only was this a great experience but you will never be bored! Thank you Ms Queen for covering so much in a short timeframe..
