An extraordinary experience! The Navajo guide, John, give us an exceptional tour, including stories about his people, the language, the geology and the land. Hooking up with him was a little confusing. You have to come through the Tribal Park entrance and pay a fee, so be sure you leave a little extra time for this: we had to wait in line for about 10 minutes. Then when you get to The View Hotel, The lobby entrance is on the right of the curved hotel sign, which was not obvious to us. You can ask for an open or closed vehicle. It was very windy so we did an enclosed vehicle, the right choice for driving on a bumpy gravel road in a dust storm!

Joseph, a native Navajo, gave us an exceptional experience. Just the amount of information and story telling. He sang a traditional song while beating his drum. 4:00 in early May made for terrific lighting.

John was our driver and he was an excellent guide. Great insights on Monument Valley and the Navajo nation. He also gave us great tips&tricks regarding fotography but also on other spots to visit near Monument Valley. Two thumbs up and thank you John for making this a once in a lifetime experience! This has been on our bucket list for many years.
