There was virtually no organization at the meeting place at Central Station. The staff made no effort to find out who was booked on which tour and we almost got on the wrong bus. It was quite chaotic. Once under way all went well except that four different languages were being used for explanations which was very tiresome. Also we spent more than an hour on a detour to New Jersey to pick up other passengers while we had to be at Central Station at such an early hour. Then there was a mix up with passengers and another 20 minutes was wasted. Once the tour was under way the places visited were very interesting and we had enough time in each place considering it is just a two day tour. A one day return trip to Washington DC would be far too rushed I think. The three star hotel accommodation was far better than expected, in a newly refurbished Howard Johnson Hotel. The driver was particularly good and drove safely and carefully.

My husband and I were very pleased with hiring the Empire Vacations service. We took this 2-day excursion, which was a very incredible wealth of knowledge. We visited Washington, Philadelphia and Amish Country (the tourist attractions are in the description on the company website). But it was a completely different view from the ones we usually have when traveling. We know the history of the United States, but in a light and very pleasant way. Our guide, who I dare write the pronunciation of her name in Portuguese, 'Terrilla', was sensational. She welcomed us so well during the two days of the tour; very kind and cheerful. If I could choose, I would recommend her for the tours. Only my husband and I spoke Portuguese in our group; the rest spoke Spanish and only one member of the group spoke Hebrew. Then, our guide communicated with us in Spanish and Hebrew. It was easy to understand Spanish. We went by bus from New York to Philadelphia, which was the first stop. Then to Amish Country. We shared the bus with another group, who spoke another language and had a different guide. But it didn't hinder communication with our guide at all. At the end of the first day, we checked into Crowne Plaza, Dulles International Airport. We loved the hotel very much. The company even pays attention to hosting. The hotel is very comfortable, with a very good breakfast and food options around as well. But we chose to have dinner at the hotel; very good food. On the second day, we woke up early and headed to Washington, DC. It was an incredible experience; both days of the tour. I highly recommend the company. With the exception of our stay in New York, which we think could use a little more organization. I found it a little messy when boarding customers. We almost got on a bus that went just to Washington, DC, on the instructions of one of the guides who were there. Luckily, we paid attention to the bus that had a sign stating that it was Washington and Philadelphia (two days) and we left the line for the other bus. Furthermore, very good service.
