Not only will you be introduced to the great birding and wildlife in the area by your naturalists guide, you will also learn about the eco-systems, it rich heritage and long history.
Our tours are never "canned", so each tour is different. The area's wildlife move around in order to exist in their world and so must we. Many species are seasonal and inhabit different areas in different environmental conditions, so too, we must be able to adapt. Bring your cameras, binoculars, snacks, favorite drinks, hats, sunglasses and have a great time!!

What To Expect

TEN THOUSAND ISLANDS NWR

In comfortable captain's style seating an, you will be safely brought deep into the 10,000 Islands Wildlife Refuge for an interpretive tour of the area led by a Florida Master Naturalist. Depending on the season, you can expect to encounter manatees, dolphins, sea turtles, bald eagles, ospreys, herons, egrets, pelicans, rosette spoonbills, as well as, numerous species of fish and shore birds as well as the opportunity to find amazing shells.

We seen dolphins, manatees, and numerous birds-it was a lot of fun and the captain and crew were very knowledgeable!

The Captain, Ed, and First Mate Kim knew so much to give us the most amazing tour. They found dolphins in 2 places and got them to follow us, jumping out of the water behind the boat wake. We spotted iguanas, birds, a momma duck and her babies, and the most amazing beach to shell. Both Ed and Kim knew each shell and we also found a live starfish and tons of sand dollars. This trip is totally worth the money. We would go again and again!

Captain Ed was a pleasure to have as our tour guide. He was very responsive on calling me back to book last minute before our vacation ended, very prompt at meeting to take us out on the boat and incredibly knowledgeable about all things wildlife in Marco! My husband, three children and I learned a ton. The dolphins were amazing and loved Ed’s boat putting on multiple shows. Shelling was incredible on the new sand bar and we have nothing but rave reviews. We have done the Calusa Spirit before and we definitely preferred this tour with Marco Boat Tours.
