When my wife and grandson went on this tour our eyes were opened about the 3 day battle in Gettysburg. being a veteran of vietnam I could only imagine the heat they endured wearing wool uniforms and marching from the south al the way to gettysburg. This was a very well planned battle by both sides, it was a very fierce 3 days in July and all of us should read as much as we can about the entire war.

On our last trip, we reserved spots on the upper deck of the double decker bus tour. This experience was incredible and I would highly recommend it for anyone visiting the battlefields. We were so fortunate to get Alice as a tour guide and she did a phenomenal job succinctly and clearly explaining the highlights of the three day battle while allowing us to follow the path of the soldiers and see the monuments. I was so impressed by the entire experience!

We took the double decker bus tour and chose the top which offered great views of the battlefield...and how often do you get to be about a foot away from a traffic light?! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable as he was a licensed battlefield guide so he knew just about everything you could want to know and he also mixed in some humor which made the tour that much more enjoyable. They offer a 15 min or so break in the middle of the tour to use a restroom or grab a drink and they also make a stop at Little Round Top where you're allowed to exit the bus.
