Our guide Ashley was wonderful. The kayak trip was about 1 1/2 miles upstream against a strong current and then back with the current. Other trips we have taken in we were dropped off upstream, floated downstream, and taken back to the start via a bus. Ashley made this enjoyable but we would have preferred a downstream paddle over a longer distance.

Thanks for exploring with us at Rock Springs!! I apologize the trip wasn't what you expected when it comes to paddling to the top of the spring! We do paddle against the flow of the water then once we reach the top, we float back down. Our experience has an overview where we explain this, but we're happy to hear you enjoyed your time on the water with Ashley!!

Ashley is a phenomenal guide! My daughter and I had an amazing experience at Rock Springs! I highly recommend that you go on the first tour of the day (like we did) to avoid the crowded and narrow waterway as the morning progresses. Although the ā€œclearā€ bottom boats are nice, you will spend very little time, if any, looking through the bottom of the kayak. If youā€™re looking through the bottom, you are probably not moving or youā€™re about to capsize. The physicality of kayaking is something to consider if you do not have upper body strength or if you have to paddle for two people. The current can be stronger in some spots and require a bit more force to maneuver. Ashley gave us great instructions, helped us when we needed it, took great pictures for us, had a FANTASTIC attitude and made the day memorable!

Thank you so much for your kind words!!! Ashley is awesome, we're glad you thought so too!! Haha, a lot of the time when we have two paddlers, they'll take turns paddling so they can soak in the views of what's beneath the clear kayak!! The paddle to the top can be more of an intermediate paddle and a work out, thats very true!! The way back down is more of a float and tends to be one of our favorite parts ;) We're so happy to hear you had a blast! If you post any photos, be sure to tag us so we can like them!! Thanks for making memories with us at Rock Springs!!
